Mountain of Moses + St. Catherine
Mountain Sinai , Jebel Musa in Arabic, Mountain Moses – there are so many different names for the mountain. Christians according to a long tradition (from about the 4th century), have revered as the place where God appeared to Moses and gave him the Ten Commandments. These sanctities are now held by the world’s three largest religions: Jewish, Christian and Islamic.
Every day, dozens, or even hundreds of pilgrims climb to the top of the mountain to see these shrines with their own eyes and feel like a part of a huge world created by the Almighty.
According to legend, for those who ascended Sinai and met the dawn here, God forgives all sins, regardless of what kind of faith the person is and what language he speaks.
PROGRAM:
🔵 Our guide will pick you up from your hotel at around 21:00 driving on a comfortable bus to the mountain around 2 and half hours.
🔵 From 2.00-5.00, hike to the peak 2285 meter above sea level. This path will lead you to a staircase of 700 steps, after which you will find yourself at the top of the mountain (If the path is too difficult for you, you can inexpensively rent a camel that will take you to the beginning of the stairs).
🔵 Then you have time to rest and watch the sunrise.⠀
🔵 After descent, you will visit the Monastery of St. Catherine, which has been operating continuously for 16 centuries.
🔵 Then Breakfast and return to Sharm at around 14:00.⠀
